'An Oasis of Tranquility'
Hookstone Woods is a small woodland situated close to where I live in North Yorkshire and during the spring & summer of 2020 it became my refuge. The Covid 19 pandemic brought an inevitable focus on illness, death, economic uncertainties with disruption to lives & travel across the world. In the face of everything going on around the world this small area of woodland became my oasis of tranquility, the place where I went to recharge my spirits. With every visit my relationship with the woods deepened. On my photo explorations there I tried to capture the variety of emotions I was experiencing – the joy of nature, a connection with a simpler, less troubled world and getting sustenance from the reminder that in the woods life went on relatively untroubled.
To celebrate this project I am offering a very special handmade collectors edition book limited to 20 copies, with all copies numbered and signed by me. These lay flat books have 52 pages of images and text, are sized 11.8" square and are meticulously crafted with a luxurious 'Wood Look Slate' design cover. The images are printed on a satin finish archival paper that will retain their quality without fading or colour shifts for at least 75 years. Each image is printed to match the accuracy of my original intent and the satin finish of the paper perfectly complements the images to allow for glare fee viewing of the photographs. In addition each collector will receive a signed 9" x 7" print of their choice from any image in the book, printed on archival quality fine art paper.
The cost per book is £300 plus postage and packing (I can quote for shipping to anywhere in the world).
Images from the book can be viewed on my 'An Oasis of Tranquility' portfolio page.

'Under African Skies'
'Under African Skies' (ISBN 978-0-9560175-3-6) is a small book (210mm square) containing 42 wildlife images taken on a 10 day safari trip to the Okavango Delta and the Chobe National Park in Botswana. Seeing the animals close up, in their own environment was an overwhelming experience and it was an immense privilege to share their space. Through the photographs in this book I try to convey the beauty, the majesty of the animals we saw, perhaps even just a little bit of their spirit. I hope I have succeeded. To see some of the images from the book please visit my portfolio pages - Gallery 1 and Gallery 2.
The book is priced at £15 plus postage & packing (I can quote for shipping to any country).
‘The Forgotten’ (ISBN 978-0-9560175-2-9), is a small book (210mm square) of images from a project I worked on during the summer of 2018 and contains 18 photographs (all taken with an infrared converted Olympus OMD EM5 plus a 9-18mm lens) in an overgrown Victorian cemetery where nature is doing its best to claim back the land. The first print run is limited to 300 copies and I am selling it signed for £10 plus P&P (and I can send to anywhere in the world). To see the images from the book please visit my ‘The Forgotten’ portfolio page here.

Brian Sharland of UKlandscape reviewed 'Lensless Landscapes' and had this to say: -
"As a working landscape photographer and running a website devoted to the landscape I get to see a LOT of images. I'm also aware of the immense amount of work that goes into creating good images. So the effort that has gone into this work must have been extraordinary. And as a result, the images in this book are about some of the best B/W photographs I've ever seen and I include photographers like Bill Brandt, Fay Godwin and Barry Thornton in that list. Steve's images are beautiful, stirring, ethereal and inspiring!"
Ephotozine had this to say: -
"The images are beautiful and the book would make a perfect gift for any landscape enthusiast."
