SG BW photo by Murray McMillanArtist Statement

I have had the pleasure and good fortune to photograph on all seven continents. But my images are rarely about location – a representation of a specific place and time. They are about conveying mood and representing the emotions I feel at the time of taking the photograph. Many of my images are consciously ambiguous, designed to create a sense of intrigue and mystery. They hopefully encourage those who see them to develop unique interpretations based on their emotions, life histories and memories.

As American photographer, Todd Hido has so eloquently said: -

“As a photographer it is not my job to create meaning but to charge the air so that meaning can occur”.
